The Legacy Program is designed specifically to support youth who struggle with behavior issues that often lead to suspensions due to classroom disruptions and problematic behaviors. The program's main goal is to inspire these students to adopt a more positive attitude toward their education and future by helping them understand the value of advanced education and lifelong learning. Here’s a breakdown of the key elements of the program:
- Restorative Circles: Students will participate in restorative circles, providing a safe space for open dialogue. This process allows students to take responsibility for their actions, understand the impact on others, and work toward making amends. Restorative circles foster empathy, accountability, and stronger relationships among peers.
- Behavior Reflection: Students will use journals to document and reflect on their behaviors, motivations, and triggers. This promotes self-awareness and accountability.
- Solution-Oriented Discussions: In group settings, students will discuss their actions and explore solutions to avoid repeating disruptive behaviors in the future. These discussions encourage collaboration and problem-solving.
- Role-Playing Activities: Students will engage in role-playing exercises to practice different strategies for managing emotions and handling challenging situations in a positive way.
- Creative Expression via TikTok: To make the lessons more engaging and relevant to their lives, students will create TikTok videos showcasing their solutions and positive behaviors. These videos will be shared on social media, promoting a sense of accomplishment and encouraging peer-to-peer learning.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Future Plans: We are excited to announce our inaugural summer camp, set for the summer of 2025. This eight-week program will provide a well-rounded and enriching experience, including:
- STEAM Career Workshops and Field Trips: Featuring hands-on experience in recording, production, and film editing.
- Test Prep Sessions: Prepare students with effective test-taking strategies and SAT preparation.
- Restorative Circles: Discuss behaviors and collaboratively problem-solve solutions.
- Journaling: Encourages self-reflection and capturing lessons learned to foster personal growth.
- Creative Expression: Using recording cameras, students will create social-emotional lessons to be shared on social media, promoting positive behavior and peer learning.
- Personal Growth and Teamwork Activities
Transportation will be provided to ensure accessibility for all participants. The camp will continue to emphasize personal growth, teamwork, and positive behavior development.
